The amount of time users are spending on the internet has increased since last year.
A survey by ispreview.co.uk said that 52 per cent of UK internet users are spending more than 24 hours a week online, or around 3.4 hours per day.
Fifty-one per cent said they were spending more time online this year than they were in 2008 but just over 20 per cent thought they were spending around the same amount of time online.
Editor-in-chief of ispreview.co.uk Mark Jackson said: "Broadband internet access has finally become an established form of both entertainment and productivity in the home.
"The market may have slowed but people show no sign of doing the same."
In related news, the House of Lords has called for greater internet security according to vnunet.com.
A debate on the issue is expected on Friday, with focus on security flaws and online flaws.
